It’s the end of the year that means it’s Tambú time. You will be obliged to dance to Tambú music at almost every occasion this time of year.
Tambú is a musical genre which stems from the slavery times. Back then it served to complain about the hard work and the bad treatment, but also to pass on messages and news in a language (Papiamento) which the slave holders didn’t understand.
Nowadays Tambú still incorporates politics and social issues in its lyrics and beats.
